Send this model letter to an employee on receipt of their request to change their Maternity Leave start date.
The letter contains an options for agreeing to the change and confirming the new Maternity Leave start and end dates and also, the option to not agree to the change.
You may not be able to agree to the request to change a Maternity Leave start date where the employee has not provided 28 days’ notice and does not have a reasonable reason, is not commencing Maternity Leave early due pregnancy related health reasons or an early birth, and you cannot accommodate the request.
The letter also reminds an employee of the notice required, should they decide to return from Maternity Leave early.
