17. Dismissal Due to Statutory Bar Letter
Use this letter to inform an employee of their dismissal due to a statutory restriction (where the employee or the Company, or both the employee and the Company would break the law if they continued in their role) . For example, where an employee is no longer eligible to work in the UK, is banned from driving, is admitted to a barred list, loses their professional membership/accreditation, or is unable to hold a practising certificate.
Before dismissing an employee due to a statutory restriction, consider the length of the prohibition, whether it is an essential requirement of the employee performing their job and whether you could offer temporary or permanent alternative work.
